What to Expect

On arrival we ask you to fill in a form with your basic details.

(We take the security of your personal information very seriously. If you’d like to know more please view our Patient Privacy Policy)

We will then take you into a consulting room and take an initial history from you. We will want to know about what has brought you in for a consultation and will ask detailed questions to help us to build a clear picture of your problem. We will then ask for further details of your medical history past and current. We like to know as much as possible about your health and accident history and any surgical or medical hospital visits as this helps us to build a fuller picture of things that may be influencing your health and your presenting problem. Please always feel free to stop the conversation at any time to ask questions.

After this we will examine you. This usually involves removing some of your clothing so observations and biomechanical assessments can be made. It can help if you are wearing  stretchy clothing and you may feel more comfortable if you are wearing a vest and shorts or leggings.

Our aim in treatment is to restore as good a tissue function as possible and to improve your comfort.

We will go on to palpate your spine and any other relevant areas to help us identify areas of weakness, injury spasm or excessive strain throughout your body. After examination it is possible we will feel further investigations are necessary such as X-rays, MRI scans or blood tests to aid our diagnosis. If so we will ask your permission to contact your GP to try and organise this. This all allows us to tailor a treatment plan to your needs.

Pilates, Physiotherapy Rehabilitation Massage and Counselling all help us to optimise the way you manage your health and well- being.
