 A visit from Bees

In the past 2 weeks we have had 2 swarms of honey bees settle on our old garden wall. Seems our garden is tasty and snug to them. We feel really honoured to be chosen by them. However we also thought they might not remain snug so we called our lovely neighbour and Bee man Hamish. He has collected the 2 swarms and they are now being cared for by the local bee community.

Maybe when we have finished our lake rehabilitation we will be able to house some hives down in the wilderness there. In the meantime we have all enjoyed the bees and learned so much about their lifecycle from Hamish. I think our society could learn a great deal from the collaborative nature of bees.
